Ebay EXIF?
By Anthony van Someren - 26 Jan 12
So there I was looking at ebay - like you do - when I should have been working, and having typed in "cafe racer" to see what kind of bikes ebay might throw up at me, I was more than surprised to see this stunning set of BikeEXIF quality pics appear on an ad for a 1977 Honda CB550 K3.
It's a popular bike to get the cafe treatment, but this one really look like a peach. I have no idea if the builder has any notoriety, is a pro, or just a shed-builder, but I can tell you that he's from Poland and the bike is on a Buy it Now at £4800 with bidding starting at £4k...
Proper man's bike - has a kickstart...
Anyway, I was going to post the link around to the shed crew, when I realised that in it's final days before being sold on, perhaps this lovely little project deserved it's moment in the limelight.Love this shortie pipe. Bet she's loud!
And if by any chance one of you decides to take a punt and put in a bid, do let us know how it turns out. Here's the Ad: "1977 Honda CB 550 K3 Cafe Racer . Complete frame off restoration. No detail was overlooked from the custom handmade metal fender, fuel cap, gauges, all the way down to the custom spokes in the rims. Rebuilt engine to factory specs, which has less than 200 km on it. Completely sand blasted before adding a fresh coat of paint." ...and if you win it, I have one small request (....as my commission...): Gi's a go mista? Epilogue I ended up getting in touch with Lukas, the owner and builder of this bike. It sounds like a lovingly put together machine, with every detail given plenty of care and attention - and the only reason he's selling is so he can start on a new, better bike. Good luck Lukas, and hopefully we'll feature your next build before it's time to sell it. Here is Lukas on the bike: Lukas Rides
