La Bambina

La Bambina
la bambina 1 It’s not often a pro build becomes a shed build, but this is what happened with Giuseppe Pizzuto’s lovely little CB500/4, named La Bambina. Giuseppe isn’t a pro builder, but like many of us, he has found a passion for customising bikes... but it wasn't intentional, it happened following his disappointing customer experience. la bambina 6 Giuseppe entrusted his little CB to a pro builder in his home land of Italy, and they turned his bike into a thing of beauty; but alas it wasn’t as useable as it was photogenic. la bambina 3 A disgruntled Giuseppe took things into his own hands; lacking in a shed, the bike moved into his house where work began in earnest. la bambina 8 Giuseppe did nearly everything himself, including painting the engine; an area that was let down by the ‘pros’. The grips, battery box strap and seat all match the bikes key-ring perfectly; the seat base, padding and coverage were all done by Giuseppe; only requiring assistance for the seam of the skin. la bambina 4 The rear fender is attached to the swingarm in a way that gives uniform clearance to the Metzeler ME 77’s. He also handmade the HONDA graphics, written in silver on black, and added plenty of tasteful little touches, like the grill on the brake fluid reservoir. la bambina 9 Giuseppe has used a little Bates style LED tail light to keep things clean at the back and up front the dash wears nothing but a black faced mini speedo. Micro indies also keep everything above board for Italy’s strict road laws. The shortened frame and ¾ seat don’t suggest invites to pillions will be regular, but rear foot-pegs remain; after all if you get the chance to give a cute local a lift, you’d want to accommodate! la bambina 2 Black, brown and the occasional bit of shine work really well with this open Cafe-Brat (That’s what CB stands for right?) along with its clear views through the frame and spoke wheels. la bambina 5 With patience, sweat, a little anger and a large dose of passion and pride, Giuseppe has achieved more than he had hoped for, as well as the satisfaction of doing almost all the work himself; often learning along the way, but for Giuseppe this was a life lesson as well as a building one. His father sums it up well ‘There is always something to learn, even from the most stupid’ wise words and Giuseppe now lives by the mantra ‘if someone can do, you can do too. You just have to want it and work hard’. la bambina 7x Thank you for sharing Giuseppe, we look forward to whatever you build next...
